Natural colors

Nature offers so many resources for beauty and harmony. Couleur Sauge is using only natural resources, plants, leaves, flowers and roots to dye its natural fabrics. 

Every dyeing bath is unique and every item we made is special. Every season provides its natural resources for natural dyes. From spring to autumn, we harvest natural products in the Pyrenees (mainly) and we create different colors proposed on Couleur Sauge items.

Madder roots make a red/pink color.

Birch tree leaves make a bright yellow/green.

Sage makes an almond green.

Onion makes several shades of yellow/ochre.

Avocado makes a slight pink.

Broom makes a beautiful yellow.

Black rice makes a beautiful grey.

Indigo makes a bright blue.

Natural dyes provide living colors, and your product may fade a little bit over time. A little more than the other dyes, your color will be sensitive to direct sun exposure.
